i was going to hold off to showcase these amazing gowns from new york's spring 2010 bridal fashion week for "gown friday", but oh my, i could no longer contain myself! so today and tomorrow i will reveal my picks for the best of the best! and friday i have a lovely exclusive look at weddings fresh's very own fashion consultant, amy-jo of bride chic!
i was very impressed, and not to mention in-love while gazing through all these beautiful gowns. ruffles, flower appliques, the one-shoulder, and the short dress were all still very chic but each designer's interpretation of the trends were fascinating and quite enticing. the modern bride has such a breathtaking selection to choose from. classic ballgown bodices and strapless yes, but why stop there when you can have a work of art, as in the case of carolina herrera's runway show: each gown was named after an artist that featured fashion in their work. for example, the gown above is the john singer sargent gown, a slim column in ivory faille with an off-kilter portrait neckline and embroidered floral brooch. oh my! to die for! definitely the gown of the night.
oscar, oh my oscar. so many gowns and so little money...my personal favorite gown is this one:
and it would seem as if oscar de la renta has redefined the meaning of ruffles. no longer can your mind drift to the horrors of the 1980's pouffy skirts and puffy sleeves that reach beyond the tops of teased, blown-out permed hair. oscar has renewed our faith in ruffles and brought us to a love that is well deserved and earned!
finally, these below are just the sweetest of all: monique lhuillier. she has created a heavenly dream for us to be swept away in...
